Camp Menorah Staff
Judi Simmons has been with Camp Menorah for 29 years. She has been the Director for the past 25 years. She sees Camp Menorah as a place where every child belongs, a place where individuality and self-esteem can grow in a safe, nurturing environment. With campers from over 30 cities and towns from Boston's Metro North and North Shore area, Judi brings children together from different backgrounds to form a family and develop skills of sportsmanship and leadership. During the school year, Judi works for the Lynn public school system as the Head Speech Pathologist. She has a Masters Degree in Education from Boston University. Our Staff: We know that the key to any successful camp lies in the hands of the staff. Every member of our staff, whether American or Israeli, must meet high standards of warmth, maturity, and sensitivity towards children. Camp Menorah prides itself on having an experienced and nurturing staff, many of whom have been with the camp for years. We carefully screen and select new staff. Extensive reference and background checks are performed, and all of our staff members, regardless of age, must be mature adults who will share their sense of Jewish pride with the campers. Staff Openings for the Summer of 2008: If you would like to join the staff at Camp Menorah, please click here to download a staff application. We are currently looking for a Project Adventure Leader, with experience in High Ropes Course and Initiative Games. If you, or someone you know, is qualified for this position, please click here.
Shlichim: For the past 25 summers, we have had Israeli counselors working at Camp Menorah. The shlichim live with families of campers or staff during the camp season. It's a wonderful opportunity to share cultures! If you are interested in housing a shaliach for a weekend, a week, or a full session, or know of someone who might be interested in doing so, please click here to email Judi Simmons.
