A wide variety of athletic activities round out the Menorah campers’ program on land and in the water:
Campers enjoy a wide variety of boating activates such as kayaking, rowing, and canoeing on beautiful Lake Chebacco. Red Cross certified boating instructors teach campers proper rowing techniques and ensure a safe, enjoyable boating experience.
Campers of certain swim levels enjoy a fast paced and breathtaking experience as they skim across the lake on a water tube. Having fun safely is our main concern as there are always Red Cross Certified life guards on the boat.
At a maximum depth of 22 feet, Lake Chebacco makes for the perfect summer fishing hole. Campers are taught how to catch and release a variety of different fish. Lake Chebacco is home to many different varieties of fish including largemouth bass, brown bullhead and yellow perch are present. Other species present are chain pickerel, black crappie, white perch and pumpkinseed sunfish.
Red Cross Certified Swimming
Each day, campers are offered both an instructional and free swim. During instructional swim, campers are grouped by swimming ability and taught skills and techniques by Red Cross Certified swim instructors. Free swim gives campers the flexibility to try out their new swimming skills with their friends and enjoy a cool dip in the lake.
Traditional team sport activities such as basketball, volleyball and kickball are popular Camp Menorah mainstays, but nothing compares to the Camp Menorah-invented game of Volleybat. The unforgettable thrill of a volleyball sailing across the field while cheering campers wave their bunkmates around the bases provides a unique sense of excitement that only Camp Menorah provides.
A blend of cultural and social activities keeps campers happily on-the-go:
Arts & Crafts
Arts and crafts inspires campers’ creativity which gives them room to shine through media including ceramics, painting, drawing, collages, origami, and various multimedia projects.
Israeli dance introduces campers to both traditional and contemporary Israeli music and culture in a way that gets them up out of their seats to enjoy movement.
No auditions necessary! Camp Menorah’s drama and theatre programs help campers to expand their creativity and natural curiosity. One of the many highlights each summer is the performance of Camp Menroah Idol on the upper field stage in a wooded setting. Campers also learn to basic acting skills including improvisation, charades, vocal projection, and much more.
